##The US Open:

This year’s US Open was (at least for me) the most exciting

major in golf since Tiger lapped the field at the Masters 3

years ago. Here’s just some of the possible story lines:

Tiger Woods wins: Finally he gets another major. It’s been

three years and a couple of close calls, but he’s finally

starting to pull things together to silence the critics and

play to his potential.

Phil Mickelson wins: The best player without a major

isn’t anymore. Not only that, he gives himself a Father’s

day present like no other. Soon his new baby will have

a special place to take baths (at least until she grows

a bit 🙂

And finally (the one that actually happened), Payne Stewart

wins: He vanquished his demons and proved to the world

that he’s one of the top golfers. No longer will he be

haunted by what could have been, but rather he’ll rejoice

in what is.

Congratulations Payne! I was pulling for you and everyone

else. I just wanted someone to win the open, instead of

someone losing it. You won it with style and grace, in

what will go down as one of the greatest US Opens of

all time.
