Playing it safe simply isn’t the Patriots’ way

Kneel down, play it safe, go to overtime? Are you crazy, John Madden? Haven’t you been paying attention to the voodoo that they do so well?

Maybe with some other team (not the fortune-kissed New England Patriots),

boasting some lesser kicker (not Adam Vinatieri), playing against some other offense

(not the St. Louis Rams’), in some saner NFL universe where 14-point underdogs

do not dominate the Big Game.

But when Madden declared from the outset of the Patriots’ final possession of Super

Bowl XXXVI on Sunday that they would surely run out the clock and settle for

overtime, you knew he was wrong. This was neither the time nor the team for meek

acceptance.

Field goal as time expires gives New England a Super Bowl upset

All right, so those of us who predicted the St. Louis Rams
would win the Super Bowl by 100 points were wrong. Hey, we weren’t alone…
Before kickoff, the only people who truly expected the New England Patriots to win
were their coaches, relatives, friends, and perhaps the ghost of Paul Revere’s
offensive coordinator.

What should the title of the new Austin Powers movie be?

Since MGM has a problem with *Goldmember*, I thought we could give Mike Meyers a hand with a different title.

##MGM Sucks!

Can you believe the stupidity of the MGM position? The Austin Powers movies give Bond free publicity. Let’s face it, it’s been quite a few years since they’ve cranked out a reasonable Bond movie and the franchise is teetering on irrelevance. Anything that actually draws attention to the franchise can only be a good thing. Wake up MGM!
