18 Hole Coverage at the Masters!

Yahoo!

For the first time in history, there will be 18-hole coverage by CBS of the final round April 14. Some of the best-kept secrets in golf are the first nine holes at the famed Augusta National. They’re a mystery to golf fans because they’ve received little or no TV time. In contrast, the back nine, with its Amen Corner, has captured the fancy of viewers over the years because that’s where the green jacket is won or lost.

This is awesome news. Too bad it’s only the final day of the tournament. I’d like to see 18 hole coverage for the whole dang thing!

Microsoft IIS Server for anti-unix site on the fritz?

When it comes to Unix, Microsoft and Unisys are suddenly silent.

The two companies launched a Web site earlier this week seeking to persuade customers to switch from the Unix operating system to Microsoft software. But as of midday Tuesday, the “We have the way out” site displayed either an all-white screen or an “Error 403” authorization message.

DOH! So, Bill, how does CROW taste?

Does this strike anyone else as a BIG LIE? You know, like **the bigger the lie, the more people will believe it**?

EchoSTAR Appeals Local TV Ruling

The satellite TV provider appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court to be able to broadcast all local TV channels in all markets nationwide, a move that would rewrite TV broadcast laws.

Being a DISH Network subscriber, I hope they win. Philosophically, there’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to get any TV station I want. Any other ruling is suspect.

And Still More FOTR DVD News from Moriaty at AICN

I wish I was on their staff! They always seem to get the cool scoops!

He quoted Tolkien from when the first overtures were made to him regarding a film version of his life’s work: “Give me art or give me cash.” Shaye said the most satisfying thing about the project has been watching Peter Jackson manage both, somehow, making a film that feels personal in every detail, but that has connected with fans on a global scale.

I’d have to agree with him there.

###Regard the 2 DVD releases

The consumer’s not getting screwed here, since they won’t be getting the same thing in November that they get in August in any way. Both discs are going to be worth owning, and combined, they represent a complete record of FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING as it stands right now.

At least now I can justify to my wife having to own both!!!

Now… only 8 months until The Two Towers!
