From Motivational Quotes of the Day:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.”

“The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.”
From PolitiFact:
This attack is false, but it’s more than that – it’s malicious. It unfairly tars not just Obama, but all the other prominent, well-respected Chicagoans who also volunteered their time to the foundation. They came from all walks of life and all political backgrounds, and there’s ample evidence their mission was nothing more than improving ailing public schools in Chicago. Yet in the heat of a political campaign they have been accused of financing radicalism. That’s Pants on Fire wrong.
I highly recommend reading the whole article. It covers the founding of the foundation (by a republican), and how the majority of the partners in the program were completely non-controversial, and dare I say it, conservative. It’s this fear / smear that makes me blanch at the idea of a McCain victory. He’s not leading, he’s tearing down. It’s not what we need now.
From Me:
Scars are evidence of a life well lived.
I said that to my daughter this past weekend when she was grousing about a scar on her leg from a recent knee surgery. Of course, I was talking about all kinds of scars; physical and emotional.
Anyway, I thought that was fairly profound… and I don’t say insightful things very often, so I thought I’d record it here 🙂
Sorry, Dad, I’m Voting for Obama – The Daily Beast:
“Let me be the latest conservative/libertarian/whatever to leap onto the Barack Obama bandwagon. It’s a good thing my dear old mum and pup are no longer alive. They’d cut off my allowance.
Or would they? But let’s get that part out of the way. The only reason my vote would be of any interest to anyone is that my last name happens to be Buckley—a name I inherited. So in the event anyone notices or cares, the headline will be: ‘William F. Buckley’s Son Says He Is Pro-Obama.’ I know, I know: It lacks the throw-weight of ‘Ron Reagan Jr. to Address Democratic Convention,’ but it’ll have to do.”
Yep. That’s right. Another conservative / libertarian like myself who’s on the Obama bandwagon.
McCain is just not the man that I want in charge of this country. His temperament, age, and yes, his politics just don’t seem like a fit for the times.
As Sarah Palin launches demonstrably false statements about Obama’s involvement with domestic terrorists, her own situation is far worse.
From NewsJunk.com:
“My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”
This was former revolutionary terrorist Bill Ayers back in his old Weather Underground days, right? Imagine what Sarah Palin is going to do with this incendiary quote as she tears into Barack Obama this week.
Only one problem. The quote is from Joe Vogler, the raging anti-American who founded the Alaska Independence Party. Inconveniently for Palin, that’s the very same secessionist party that her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and that she sent a shout-out to as Alaska governor earlier this year. (“Keep up the good work,” Palin told AIP members. “And God bless you.”)
Who’s the real threat?
