It’s Official… Gandalf is Back

From [Sci Fi Wire](http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/:)

British actor Ian McKellen told Empire magazine that he will reprise the role of the wizard Gandalf in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, the Reuters news service reported.

Could anybody else EVERY play Gandalf? I think NOT!

Woods sidelined by knee operation

From [BBC Sport | Golf | World Edition](http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/sport2/hi/golf/default.stm:)

Tiger Woods is set to be out of action for between four to six weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Well, maybe that explains a few things…. like why he couldn’t turn the ball over and keep it in those right-to-left fairways? Still, he managed to finish second at the [[Masters]].

This is [[Tiger]]’s third knee surgery. I hope they can fix whatever is giving him a hard time. Being a veteran of 9 which ultimately led to a total knee replacement at the age of 40, I sure hope he’s not going down the same path that I did.

Best of luck [[Tiger]]!

McKellen Eager To Join Hobbit

From [Sci Fi Wire](http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/:)

Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf the wizard in the three Lord of the Rings movies, posted on his personal blog that he is interested in reprising the role in the Peter Jackson-produced Hobbit movies now in development.

How could it be any other way? NOBODY else could be Gandalf. He IS Galdalf!

A More Perfect Union

One of the great speeches ever? You decide. Don’t take the sound-bite artists in the news agencies and talk shows at their word. They distilled this brilliant 40 minute speech down to 15 seconds of sound bites that appear to make Obama exonerate his minister, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s gut check time:

Imagine… speaking to us as if we’re adults and not taking the easy way out.

This cemented my vote for him.

Liar, liar, pants on fire

From [CNN.com](http://www.cnn.com/?eref=rss_topstories:)

Sen. Hillary Clinton said she “misspoke” last week when she gave a dramatic description of her arrival in Bosnia 12 years ago, recounting a landing under sniper fire.

Yeah, right. Isn’t it amazing how she didn’t lie when she blatantly tells untruths to make herself look more experienced in international politics, it’s that she misspoke?

Listen, if it walks, talks, and quacks like a duck, she’s lying her ass off.

Now, Mrs. Clinton, let’s see if you have the guts to hit this straight on the way Obama did with his problems last week in one of the greatest speeches I’ve ever heard! If I had to guess, I’d say the chances are slim.

Not Just a Witch Hunt

From [CNN](http://www.cnn.com:)

…It is not just about the sexual affair. It is about lying under oath. It is about betraying the public trust…

No, that’s not about Bill and Monica. It’s from the prosecutor in Detroit about Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his chief of staff. But it does sound strikingly similar, doesn’t it?

Well, those you that thought that the impeachment of Bill Clinton was just a witch hunt, you’re just plain wrong. It was always about lying under oath, not the sexual picadillos of the now-ex-president.

Bill Richardson to endorse Obama

From [CNN.com](http://www.cnn.com/?eref=rss_topstories:)

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic race for president today, an Obama campaign spokesperson told CNN. In an e-mail to supporters, Richardson said Obama will be a “historic and a great President, who can bring us the change we so desperately need.”

Hello Mr. Vice President. I’ve thought for a while that he’d be a good choice. This cements it. Throwing your support behind Obama after this last week’s controversy is courageous. He should remember that when it comes time to choose a running mate.
