Republicans Are Dead to Me

###I’ve Had Enough

I’ve never been a member of any party, but I’ve (I’m now embarrassed to say) voted for Republicans most of my life. But I won’t be now, and possibly never again. I defended the tax cuts, the war on terror, the deficit spending.

I’d even let the party off the hook for the Foley situation, **if they had acted in a responsible manner when they found out.** Instead, they ignored the situation, put children at risk, and enabled a pedophile. Can there be anything more despicable?

They are drunk on the power of controlling the entire government, and have forgotten that they serve us, not the other way around. What happened to a government for the people, by the people, and of the people? We now how a de facto institutionalized aristocratic class in this country, and it is time to get rid of the bums.

###Republicans = Evil

There it is. We have a new working definition of evil in America: the Republican Party.

The fact that the Speaker of the House knew about Foley, had been told about the emails and instant messages to the congressional page, and subsequently put Foley in charge of the congressional committee for the protection of children is beyond my ability to comprehend. Is this guy serious? Why is he still the speaker? Why hasn’t he been arrested for aiding a sex predator?

It is not ignorance, not politics, and not forgetfulness. It’s **evil**.

###The Times They Are a’Changin’

Political parties are what they do. They are not what they say they are. Think about that for a minute. The Republicans define themselves as the party of:

* Family Values
* Personal Freedom
* Small Government
* Fiscal Responsibility

But are they really? **Absolutely not!** Compare the above items with the list below (respectively):

* Representative Foley
* Patriot Act, marriage amendment
* Department of Homeland Security, Medicare Reform
* Huge deficits brought on by the war and increased domestic spending

it just doesn’t add up, does it. Actually, if you look at it objectively, you’ll find that, in fact, most of the things that were Republican values are now embodied by the Democrat party.

Are you Republican party members out there? You’ve been betrayed by your party. It’s time to let them know that you are not intellectually challenged automatons that will vote republican just because you’re a member of the party. It’s time to take back the power and use your vote to start cleansing our country of this filth.
