Few of OOXML’s Flaws Have Been Addressed

From [Slashdot](http://slashdot.org/:)

I Don’t Believe in Imaginary Property writes “IBM’s Rob Weir has done a study on how many flaws were addressed by the OOXML Ballot Resolution Meeting. So far, using a random sampling technique, he has yet to find a flaw that was addressed, making the upper bound a paltry 1.5%. Even so, he’s found a number of new flaws, including a security vulnerability: OOXML stores passwords in database connection strings in plain text. At least there were no mistakes on five of the first twenty five random pages he reviewed.

Yet another reason why OOXML must die. Long live OpenDoc!!!!

Commentary: Brave Obama poses challenge

From [CNN.com](http://www.cnn.com/?eref=rss_topstories:)

Like many Americans I watched Sen. Barack Obama deliver his speech titled “A More Perfect Union.” … For days pundits have pondered whether Sen. Obama could weather the controversy over Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s racially polarizing comments. The question at this juncture is not whether the candidate will rise to the occasion, but rather, whether America will.

I know that while I was concerned with Wright’s comments which seemed at best inflammatory, I didn’t (want to?) hold Obama responsible for the statements of someone he associates with. I am not responsible for what my friends say (and sometimes they say some stupid things [[:-)]]), and neither is he.

His response was both poignant and elegant. He still has my vote.

Tiger’s domination reaches a new height?

From [Golf News : CBS SportsLine](http://www.sportsline.com/golf:)

Tiger Woods keeps winning. Now the numbers are starting to rival those of his phenomenal 2000-2001 seasons. But Steve Elling and Ross Devonport agree; there is a major difference.

In a point-counterpoint style debate, two golf writers line up on opposite sides… errr…. actually the same side. [[Tiger]] is going to kick ass this year. End of story.

Caddie Williams says Tiger in whole new place

From [Golf News : CBS SportsLine](http://www.sportsline.com/golf:)

Tiger Woods has gone off on these head-shaking streaks before, but Steve Elling says the guy who has been up close for all of them, caddie Steve Williams, hasn’t seen anything like this.

I’m sure the whole tour is collectively shaking its head, and even just plain shaking perhaps. He’s really in a zone that’s more complete than the one he was in in 2000-2001? To think that someone could achieve that once in a career is mind boggling, but twice?… it’s beyond imagination.

Apple’s PC Marketshare up to 14 Percent for February 2008

From [MacRumors](http://www.macrumors.com:)

According to preliminary data from NPD, Apple reportedly acheived 14 percent of the retail PC market share in February 2008, up from 9% just a year ago. This represents 60 percent unit growth and 67 percent revenue growth year-over-year.

Has Apple finally reached the tipping point? I t would seem so. It looks like “the people” have finally realized that the Mac is just a better computing experience for the majority of people. And for those that it isn’t, they need to look at linux [[:-)]].

Woods birdies 18 to hold off Bryant, go to 4-0 in 2008

From [Golf News : CBS SportsLine](http://www.sportsline.com/golf:)

Tiger Woods made a 25-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one shot, extending his PGA Tour winning streak to five and keeping intact a perfect season in golf.

Count yourself lucky. It’s not often that you get to be alive when someone comes along in a sport, ANY sport, and so completely dominates it that at his young age people are calling him the greatest of all time. By the time he’s done, there’ll be no doubt. The grand slam in a single year? Of course. 25 majors? Sure. 100 total victories? Why not.

Obama increases lead in delegate count – CNN.com

From [CNN.com](http://www.cnn.com:)

With the victory, Obama added 17 delegates to his total while Clinton picked up 11, CNN estimates. The Mississippi win was Obama’s second win in a row, having won the Wyoming caucuses Saturday.

CNN Tuesday also projected that Obama was the winner of the Texas Democratic caucuses that occurred March 4. Obama will be awarded 38 of Texas’s delegates, while Clinton will win 29 delegates as a result of the caucuses, CNN estimates.

Does this mean that Hillary is going to drop out? I mean, she didn’t win Texas (although, that’s not her story), so her claims to winning the big states kinda falls flat.

I doubt it.

This is going to be an interesting sprint to the finish, and if the super delegates do the wrong thing (which I’m afraid they’ll do), and select Clinton, you’ll start hearing the changes of Selected, not Elected across the country… and that may be the only way that McCain can win.

More Clinton Shenanigans?

####Unofficial Tallies in City Understated Obama Vote

From [The NY Times](http://www.nytimes.com:)

Black voters are heavily represented in the 94th Election District in Harlem’s 70th Assembly District. Yet according to the unofficial results from the New York Democratic primary last week, **not a single vote in the district was cast for Senator Barack Obama**.

Uh….. does this in any way cast a doubt on the results from yesterday’s primaries in Ohio, etc.? I’d say the answer is a resounding yes!

Ordinarily, I’d question the source of this sort of thing, but it’s the New York Frickin’ Times!!!
